No Other Gospel | Galatians 1-6

There is no other good news like the good news of Jesus Christ. Our lives are constantly bombarded with advertisements and competing messages, each one promising to fix a “problem” and offering a solution that seems quick, satisfying, and complete. But many of those solutions don’t actually address what’s deepest in us. And just like ads can persuade us in a moment—calling us hungry when we were previously content—so too the enemy of our souls uses false ideas and religious substitutes to distract us from the true Gospel. Paul’s letter to the Galatians is urgent because the Gospel is not optional, and it cannot be improved by adding human effort.

In Galatia, the churches were being pulled away from Christ by voices that sounded spiritual but undermined the grace of God. Galatia was not just one city, but a region of multiple towns where Paul began churches during his missionary journey (Acts 13:1–14:28). These Gentile believers had turned to God, entrusted themselves to Christ, and embraced a new life marked by freedom. But then “Judaizers” came into the churches and began teaching a message built on “Jesus plus.” Jesus plus the Law of Moses. Jesus plus special days. Jesus plus circumcision. Jesus plus something additional for salvation. The danger wasn’t merely that they were learning something different—it was that they were deserting the saving grace of God and replacing the freedom of Christ with a counterfeit gospel of performance.

That’s why this entire series matters for the church today. Galatians confronts the temptation to trade grace for works, to turn faith into a checklist, and to treat Christ as if He is not enough on His own. It calls believers back to the heart of the Gospel: salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works of the law. As we walk through Galatians, we’ll see how Paul defends the truth of the Gospel with passion and clarity, helping us recognize “Jesus plus” thinking wherever it appears—whether in religious rules, cultural pressures, spiritual pride, or attempts to earn God’s favor. There is only one true Gospel, and in it we find real life, real freedom, and real hope—so we stand firm, not chasing something new, but clinging to Jesus alone.

Kids Programs

Here at Hub Life we believe that children are a vital part of the church, and we want to create a safe and engaging space for them to learn about God. Because of this, we created kids programs for children between the ages of birth and 5th grade to attend during our Sunday morning service. During our services, kids stay with their families for the first half and then have a dedicated time for a kids’ message and activities during the message portion of the service.

On the first Sunday of every month, we have a family Sunday, where children of all ages join us for the entire service, including a special kids’ message.
